It was a fairly quiet weekend for Claremorris Colts RFC, with the harsh weather conditions leading to blanket cancellations.
On Saturday morning, the Mini Rugby teams had been due to travel to Headford to take on Corrib RFC but the North Galway club were forced to cancel due to a frozen pitch. Nevertheless, the Colts braved the conditions and training took place at the Mount St Michael convent pitch on Saturday morning.
The U-13 side had been due to travel to Sligo on Sunday for a league game but this game was cancelled due to a frozen pitch. Meanwhile, the U-15 side had planned to participate in a challenge game against Ballinrobe but this was called off due to a bereavment in Ballinrobe.
This week, all teams will be back in action, weather permitting. Tomorrow evening (Tuesday), the U-15s will take on Dunmore at 7.30pm in a hugely important league clash. All players are asked to be in Dunmore no later than 7pm.
On Wednesday evening, the U-13s will travel to Dunmore for a league game against the home side at 7pm. All players are asked to be in Dunmore no later than 6.30pm. The Mini Rugby teams (U-7, U-8, U-9, U-10, U-11 and U-12) will be in Tuam on Saturday morning for a blitz. Details in this regard will be made available closer to the weekend.
