The Colts are hosting a home mini rugby blitz on Saturday 12th November starting at 10am on the Convent Pitch, Claremorris. There will be girls & boys teams visiting from Ballina RFC, Ballinrobe, Dunmore and Westport RFC.
The blitz will kick-off at 10am & we are planning for all the games to be finished by 11.30am. Throughout the morning there will be games for the U7, U8, U9, U10, U11 & U12 boys teams as well as the Girls U10 & U12 teams. The blitz will follow a ‘Silent Side Lines’ format where supporters will be encouraged to clap to show their enthusiasm for the players on the pitch but restrict the volume of verbal coaching from the side line. More details available on Saturday morning.
The weather forecast on Saturday morning is for cool and possibly wet conditions so please ensure your child comes along dressed in warm clothes and ideally, with a change of clothes for when the mini rugby blitz has been completed. Gum shields are compulsory for all players on Saturday and the rule will be strictly enforced.
There will be no parking on the road outside the Convent Pitch on Saturday – to avoid traffic congestion we are asking parents and supporters traveling to the pitch to use the Old Knock Road and leave via the Castlebar Road exit. Can parents, guardians and supporters who will be staying for the blitz please use the Mount St. Michael Secondary School Car park as the road at the pitch entrance will be cordoned off.
There will be food and treats for all players once the games are finished. We would be grateful to any parents who can bring sandwiches & treats on Saturday or help out with catering on the day. Please contact Annette Byrne on 087 220 4123 or Robert Campbell on 087-741 1619 with any questions or with offers of help on Saturday
