The Aviva Stadium was a real field of dreams for the Claremorris Colts RFC with twenty Under 10 players participating in the 2016 Aviva National Mini Rugby Festival.
Over 200 players from twenty teams had the opportunity to run out and play on the same Aviva pitch where their Irish rugby heroes have played and won the Six Nations trophy in recent years. The twenty sides were chosen from 240 clubs across the four provinces and got to participate in the Festival, which was being held in the Stadium for the third occasion. Claremorris Colts RFC represented Connacht Rugby along with Ballina RFC and An Ghaeltacht.
The Festival saw the sides play against each other in a non-competitive and fun environment, which gave the players the chance to develop their skills and learn from one another in the home of Irish Rugby. Led by Coaches Eoin Colgan and Jarlath Sweeney, the Colts u10s played against teams from Letterkenny, Limerick, Lisburn and Dublin.
Each of the Minis on the day will receive a Certificate signed by Jamie Heaslip, Ireland captain Rory Best and Robbie Henshaw and an Aviva Mini Rugby Festival wristband.
