We are holding an information evening this Wednesday 4th April at 7pm in the McWilliam Park Hotel in relation to the future direction of the club.
As most of you will be aware, the club has now enjoyed three great seasons of rugby, with numbers and participation increasing each year. Our goal is to expand the club even further and we would like you all to have your say on the development of Claremorris Colts RFC in the coming months and years.
To date, we have been extremely lucky in securing use of the pitch at Mount St Michael and for this, we are grateful to the Principal, Board of Management and staff at the school. Going forward however, our dream is to develop our own facilities – a full-size pitch, training ground and clubhouse. Obviously, such a development cannot happen overnight and a great deal of work will need to be done in order for us to achieve our goal.
We are in the process of drawing up plans for our own facilities and are hopeful that a grant will be forthcoming from the Department of Tourism and Sport to assist in bringing these plans to fruition. In addition, we need to focus our attention on fundraising activities; both short and long term and we would appreciate your insight, input and advice in this regard.
The purpose of the information evening on April 4 is to share with parents, our plans and goals for the club. We’d also like to hold a brain-storming session at this meeting to generate some fundraising ideas for both our pitch development plans and to meet the day-to-day running costs of the club.
As parents/guardians of the players, we value your opinions and welcome all ideas and suggestions on the future development of the club. We would appreciate if at least one parent from each house takes time to attend the meeting. Together, we can make Claremorris Colts RFC a club that will be the envy of others both locally and nationally.
