Busy Times for Claremorris Colts RFC

It was another busy weekend for Claremorris Colts RFC, as the teams travelled away from home to take on their counterparts from across the region. On Saturday, the U-8s, U-9s and U-10s were in Castlebar for a blitz, while the U-11s and U-12s travelled to Ballina. In both venues, the Colts met teams from Ballina, Castlebar and Sligo and, on the whole, the Claremorris players did extremely well.

The player that stood out most on the day for the U-8 team was Kyle Leonard, while Adam Fahy did well at U-9 level and Harry Burke for the U-10s. In Ballina, the joint players of the day for the U-11 team were Dimitry Trench and Bradley Hughes, while Brandon Walsh was the top player for the U-12s.

This Saturday, there will be a mini rugby Home Blitz at the Mount St Michael convent pitch in Claremorris. All players are asked to be togged out and ready for action by 10.30am.

The U-13s had no game at the weekend, while the U-15s played a challenge game against Ballaghaderreen on Saturday, beating them 39-19. Certainly, the U-15s were in top form at the weekend and as well as the first team, each of the subs also got a chance to prove themselves with every player performing well on the day. But, while each player shone for Claremorris against Ballaghaderreen, the player of the day for the Colts was Daniel Merrick.

This Wednesday night, November 24, the U-15s will travel to Galway to take on Corinthians in a challenge game, while the U-13s will face Tuam in a League game on Wednesday night. As well, the U-13s will take on Ballaghaderreen in another League encounter at the weekend. The next League match for the U-15s will be against Loughrea in Ballyhaunis. The date for this game has yet to be decided.

The Colts U-15s managers and players would like to wish a speedy recovery to Conor Lavery, a promising young Prop. Hope to see you back on the field soon again Conor!
