It was a busy morning of rugby last Saturday as our boy’s mini rugby team attended blitzes in both Castlebar and Westport.

The U7, U8, U9 and U10 teams hit for Castlebar and all teams acquitted themselves very well in the games they played. The U7 team had some excellent performance but Brian Hett must get the award for player of the day. For the U8 team Barry Gleeson deserves special mention for his all round play.

The U9’s had two teams in action with Daniel Noone and Jack Melvin the stand out performers. The U10’s also had two teams with Adam Gleeson and Mark Gibbons leading by example.

The U11 and U12 were action in Westport where some excellent displays of rugby were on show. Best for the two U11 teams were Dylan Morris and Eoin O’Connor, while the U12 award goes to Michael McHale. We would also like to thank both host clubs for their hospitality once the games were done and dusted.
