The Colts were away to Castlebar and came away with a strong win against a weakened team. Final score Castlebar 12-53 Colts
A great morning of rugby for the Colts U15 girls squad away to Corinthians. The friendly game saw several players play their first ever game of rugby and others up from minis played their first youth game. There was great attacking team play with the ball being moved well through the hands. Defence was also good with some fine tackling displayed. This was a great start to the year. The girls have their first league game next weekend at home to Buccs.
The Colts U14 team dug deep and recorded a great win over Dunmore. The Colts were always behind in the first half despite two fine tries by Brian McWalters. 17- 12 down at half time it looked like the Colts would struggle to get a win. But a super Captain’s try by Luke Colleran inspired his team to up their game. Jack Creighton thenran the length of the pitch to score the eventual winner. A great team performance kept Dunmore scoreless in the second half. A big well done to Cathal Devane who hurt his ankle after making a fine run. Final score Dunmore 17-24 Colts
A very impressive performance from our the Colts today with two well worked tries. The first from Michael Foody and the second from Liam Walsh and a conversion by Matty Morris. Unfortunately this was not enough to over power a strong Castlebar side who finished strongly and got the rub of the green. Castlebar scored a last play try which was enough to see them over the line. Irrespective this was a good team effort by the Colts who are on the road again next Saturday away to Ballina. Final score Castlebar 17-12 Colts
