The Colts U15s kicked off their league campaign with a win against Loughrea today in Dunmore.
Straight from the kick-off the Colts looked in great form with some fantastic team play, quick rucking from the forwards and slick hands from the backs. It was not long before full back Jack Fallon scored the first try . This set the pattern for the rest of the half and with some more great interplay between backs and forwards Michael John Duffy, Evan O’Brien and Joe Prendergast touched down for some great tries.
The second half saw Loughrea find their feet and they put a lot more pressure on the Colts at the rucks . However the Colts were very focused and Stephen Ferriter and Jack Kennedy settled the tie with two tries with Daniel Ferriter adding the conversion of the day to complete the Colts score . A special mention also goes to John Wallace who in his first ever game of rugby scored a try. Loughrea had the last word with a well worked try just before the final whistle .
Final score: Claremorris Colts 25 – 7 Loughrea
